How To Take A Marijuana Cutting

The first step in cloning your plants is cutting. While it is possible to take cuttings from flowering plants, we would not recommend it. Once your plants are fully bloomed, let them do their job – that is, grow high-quality weeds for you.

Select healthy plants with at least 6 nodes or every 4 weeks as donors

Take cuttings from young, unflowing plants. Once you have selected the phenotype you want and are sure of the gender, allow it to grow under 18 to 20 hours of light to prevent it from entering the flowering cycle.

To get marijuana clones you can also opt for Humboldt clones for sale.

This will be your mother plant and with good care you will get an almost unlimited supply of cuttings. Some growers like to take cuttings from all of their plants (before flowering) as a routine, especially if you are growing a lot of plants from seed.

These cuttings are clearly labeled to match the parent plant. When the mother plant is ready, it is possible to select the best and most suitable branch. Now your next young plant is an exact copy of your favorite mature plant.

1. To make the cut, you will need a sharp, clean razor, scalpel, or scissors. Sterilize the cutting edge with alcohol

2. Make the cut at an angle of 45 degrees, ie. Select a green branch with 2 or 3 knots (fanless). Avoid branches. Use a razor blade to cut the branch diagonally at an angle about 5-10 mm below the knot.
